Dnia 22.12.2017 r. miała miejsce Wigilia zorganizowana w Szkole Podstawowej w Piorunce. Życzenia świąteczne złożyli dyrektor mgr inż. Tomasz Szczepanik i zaproszeni goście: ks. Ryszard Kudroń, zastępca burmistrza Krynicy-Zdroju pan dr hab. Tomasz Wołowiec, prezes Związku Nauczycielstwa Polskiego w Krynicy-Zdroju pani Iwona Ferek. Na uroczystość przybyli również emerytowani pracownicy szkoły.
Oprócz tradycyjnych dań przygotowanych przez poszczególne klasy wspólnie z rodzicami
i łamania się opłatkiem mgr Katarzyna Górowska przygotowała z uczniami klasy VII spektakl o tematyce bożonarodzeniowej. Spotkanie było wspaniałą okazją do wspólnego kolędowania.
